Recovery & Aftercare
Recovery & Aftercare
Your recovery experience is a critical part of achieving beautiful, long-lasting breast implant results. At Breast Implant Miami, every post-operative plan is thoughtfully designed to support healing, minimize discomfort, and protect your surgical outcome. Clear guidance, attentive monitoring, and structured follow-up appointments ensure you feel confident and supported at every stage of recovery.
The First 24–72 Hours
Mild to moderate swelling, tightness, and soreness are expected in the initial days following surgery. These symptoms are temporary and carefully managed with prescribed medication and detailed aftercare instructions. You will return home the same day with a supportive surgical bra and clear guidance regarding rest, positioning, and movement.
It is important to:
- Rest with your upper body slightly elevated
- Avoid lifting, pushing, or pulling
- Take medications exactly as directed
- Keep incision areas clean and dry
The First Few Weeks
Most patients resume light daily activities within several days, depending on individual healing and the nature of their work. However, strenuous exercise, upper body workouts, and heavy lifting must be avoided for several weeks to protect implant positioning and incision healing.
Swelling gradually decreases over several weeks, and implants will begin to settle into a more natural position. Temporary firmness or a feeling of tightness is normal during this period.
You will attend scheduled follow-up appointments so healing progress, implant positioning, and incision care can be professionally monitored.
Long-Term Healing
Final results evolve gradually. As swelling resolves and tissues soften, your implants will settle into a natural contour and feel. This process, often referred to as “drop and fluff,” can take several weeks to a few months depending on implant type and placement.
Long-term care recommendations may include:
-
Wearing supportive bras as advised
-
Protecting incision sites from sun exposure
-
Attending periodic checkups
-
Monitoring for any changes in breast shape or comfort
Scarring & Incision Care
Incisions are placed strategically to remain discreet. Proper incision care, including following all cleaning instructions and avoiding tension on the healing skin, plays a significant role in optimal scar maturation. Over time, scars typically fade and soften significantly.
Supporting a Smooth Recovery
Every patient heals differently. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, avoiding smoking, staying hydrated, and following all post-operative instructions will support optimal recovery and long-term results.
Your comfort, safety, and satisfaction remain our highest priorities. With attentive aftercare and expert surgical oversight, your recovery is designed to be smooth, discreet, and aligned with the refined standards of care you expect.
